"DESCRIBE YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE
LEARNING CYCLE AND PREFERRED LEARNING STYLES"

7 comments:

  1. In my opinion, the relationship between the learning cycle and preferred learning style lies in the fact that by understanding a learner's preferred learning style, we can tailor the activities and materials used in each stage of the learning cycle to better match the learner's needs and preferences.
By matching the activities in the learning cycle to a learner's preferred learning style, hopefully we can create a more engaging and effective learning experience, which can lead to better retention and transfer of knowledge.

    1. Yes, Ran, by understanding the styles of others we can strategize the best ways to reach them. That is the design usefulness of the cycle.

  2. Learning Cycle for me is “learning journey wheel”. Everyone of us has our own learning wheel and we are most comfortable at our preferred style. Using Learning Cycle we can improve our learning, teaching, teamwork, communication, and productivity. Learning Cycle provides to better understand myself and those who I interact with to improve learning.

    1. Yes, this is another key connection; the knowledge that calls us to stretch, not only to understand others, but to better meet ourselves in the stretching. Exactly.

  3. Building on Ran's and Niko's comments, I add that when we try to understand differences in learning styles in a group, we also celebrate diversity. We are all different--not just in terms of our learning preferences but also as human beings. Adapting how we engage with people in the classroom and elsewhere, according to who we have in front, is an essential skill for a modern, emphatic and influential facilitator.

    1. I love the celebration aspect of the connection. If truly felt, the teacher, learner relationship flourishes.

  4. Depending on where we are on the learning wheel, we prefer different learning techniques, we grasp information differently or the way information is transmitted influences on our degree of its understanding.

It is essential to include all learning styles in the classroom in order to have a greater impact on the participants, but also in order to offer a more complex map of addressing or dealing with a topic when teaching.
